F&M Group

Education should stretch beyond the walls of the classroom.

Our Student Tasting Tours immerse students into the stories and lives of the immigrant business community in historic South Philadelphia.  Students learn about the deep connections between culture, food, hospitality and entrepreneurship on this walking tour of the Italian Market that engages all of their senses with educational tastings, professional culinary demonstrations and live Q+A’s.

Where the Old World meets the New…

The community and businesses that thrive in the Italian Market are a true representation of the melting pot that is America.  While the Market started in the Italian immigrant community in the 1880s, it has grown to reflect the multi-cultural fusion of today into the country’s oldest, largest outdoor market.  Students get an insider’s behind-the-scenes look into how this landmark functions and flourishes.
