Classic, melt-in-your-mouth butter cookies.
Recipe by Chef Jacquie.
2 cups (4 sticks) butter, softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
5 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
3Beat in eggs and vanilla.
4In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
5Gradually add to butter mixture and mix well.
6Place dough in cookie press or roll out and use holiday shaped cookie cutters. Put dough onto cookie sheets and decorate with red and green sugar crystals. Bake 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned.
7Transfer cookies to wire racks, cool completely.
