Grandmom Lena's Sesame Seed CookiesIn December, Taste 4 Travel featured a “Cookie Contest” giveaway, and Chef Jacquie is happy to announce the winning recipe by Karen DiGiacomo. Congratulations!

• 5 cups flour
• 2-1/4 cups sugar
• 1-1/2 cups butter
• 5 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 3 eggs
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1-3/4 cups sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar, add eggs, vanilla and salt and mix well. Add baking powder and flour to make dough. Roll into balls about 1 inch thick then roll into rope about 3 inches long, roll in milk and then the sesame seeds. Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes, until lightly browned.

My Grandmom Lena always made these when we were kids – God bless her!
