Did you ever wish you could eat like a real Italian for Sunday Dinner? Now you can!
I am thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Airbnb to create a new tasting experience like no other!
When my team and I heard that Airbnb was curating experiences in different cities all over the world some months ago, we jumped at the chance to get on the waiting list for Philadelphia…especially once I read the description of what they were looking for:
“Experiences are one-of-a-kind activities that tell the story of the host’s unique perspective and passion, offering guests something that guidebooks or internet searches can’t.”
I mean…hello? That’s exactly what I LOVE to do! It’s the reason I started my company…to give people an insider’s experience into my own little corner of the world…and it all started at the Italian Market, so I’ve whipped up something really special for our Airbnb Experience!
I call it…The South Philly Italian Gravy Dinner. It’s a 3-hour long food tour of the Italian-American neighborhood I grew up in…soup to nuts. Or in this case, olives to cannoli! Haha!
We’ll meet at a world-famous cheese shop with luscious samples-think imported cheeses, prosciutto and buttery olives- in the iconic South Philly Italian Market.
Then we’ll stroll over to meet the meatball makers and sample one of their award-winning meatballs (seriously the best one you’ve ever had)!
You’ll enjoy a traditional Italian-American Sunday supper with a plate piled high with spaghetti and REAL Red Gravy (NOT sauce), with your choice of sausage or braciole, plus some vino to wash it all down.
I’ll teach you how to properly twirl spaghetti and you’ll get a lesson in gravy and sauce (what’s the big deal anyway? I’ll tell ya.)
Then it’s on to the BEST cannoli in all of the land at a 3rd generation-owned Italian bakery (pssst….this is where the Pope gets his pastries from…for real.)
Finally, you’ll experience la dolce vita first hand with a classic affogato made by the best barista at this local coffee/gelato shop!
We go behind-the-scenes of famous kitchens, gourmet food shops, and 5th generation businesses, and my lifelong relationships with the owners and chefs means not only do you get the real deal good stuff-you get welcomed like family.
I can’t wait to show you the hospitality of The Italian Market and to share a REAL Sunday Dinner with you. Just like nonna used to make. Won’t you join me?
Check out my experience and if you haven’t signed up for Airbnb try it – it’s awesome!
